As the old proverb goes, there are three things that matter in property: Location, location, location!

When we began the search for space for the Vermont Artisan Village, we got stuck on Shelburne. Why? Well, it’s the location (…location, location). Shelburne is the quintessential Vermont village with a pretty town green, fabulous bakeries and restaurants and a real sense of community. It is also very conveniently located on Route 7, right smack in between Burlington and Middlebury, on one of the busiest tourist corridors in Vermont. On one end you have Vermont Teddy Bear and Shelburne Vineyard. On the other, there is the Shelburne Museum and Shelburne Orchards. And let’s not forget the award-winning Fiddlehead Brewing and delicious Folino’s for wood-fired pizza. The stunning Adirondacks and Lake Champlain are within view wherever you go, and on all sides you are surrounded by lush, fertile farmland. Shelburne is an incredible spot for biking, sight-seeing and all-around celebrating everything that is great about Vermont.

Shelburne Vineyard VT Artisan Village

Over the years, Shelburne has become a foodie destination in its own right. Since 2008, the town has hosted the annual Vermont Cheesemakers Festival, which brings thousands of tourists to town to mingle, celebrate and sample hundreds of amazing Vermont cheeses and other products on Lake Champlain. The town is also home to hundreds of acres of preserved farmland and a thriving farming community that includes Bread & Butter Farm, Shelburne Vineyards, Shelburne Orchards, and, of course, Shelburne Farm.

This is where Vermont Artisan Village will be built, on 10 pristine acres, that breaks ground in the summer of 2014. Here, you will become a part of the creative and supportive community of Shelburne. You will be within a convenient half-hour drive of Burlington and Middlebury and a must-stop destination for the hundreds of thousands of tourists that pass by daily all year long.
